About & Contact

George Howlett is a Winchester-based illustrator creating travel-inspired artwork in digital media, watercolour and linocut. Blending modern and vintage influences, his work has broad appeal across generations and draws from both his local surroundings and his journeys.
George studied Animation at Bournemouth Art University, where he developed strong foundations in visual storytelling, composition, and environment design. During this time, he worked as a background artist on various projects, learning how to construct settings that feel structured, atmospheric, and visually engaging. This training continues to influence his work today, giving his prints a clear sense of place and a subtle, film-like quality.
After graduating, George began working as a freelance illustrator. His recent work includes shopfront artwork, children’s book illustrations, album covers for music labels, and designs. Projects
Alongside client work, he recently produced a series of travel posters and illustrations inspired by his experience travelling in Japan. This collection reflects his ongoing interest in capturing the character of destinations through shape, colour, and atmosphere.
